Plano East - Boys Varsity Head Coach

​Coach Matt Wester has 17 years of experience coaching high school basketball. He began his fourth year as the head Varsity Coach at Plano East. In his coaching career Coach Wester has coached at almost every level. At Plano East, he has been the head coach and Varsity Assistant. In 5 years at Naaman Forest, he coached the freshman and JV teams while assisting the varsity to 4 consecutive playoff appearances, two district titles, and one final four. He has been a Junior High coach at Rice Middle and Parkhill Junior High in Richardson.  In the previous nine years at Plano East they have won two district titles, made three playoff appearances, and won more than 20 games four times. In high school Coach Wester played on two TAPPS final four teams and one state championship team. He also played college basketball at Wayland Baptist University before receiving his degree from Texas Tech University in 2004. He and his wife Micahl have been married for 18 years. They have five wonderful children Levi (12), Emery (9), Claire (7), Evan (5), and Seth (5). The Westers live in Dallas.
